Image compressor

Make image files dramatically lighter — and see the savings before you download.

Compress images for faster pages, smaller uploads, and email-friendly attachments. Four modes cover every case: Smart picks sensible settings automatically, Quality gives you a visual quality slider, PNG Palette reduces colors losslessly-looking for graphics, and Target size iterates until the file fits a byte budget you set.

The preview shows the compressed image and exact file size before you commit, and up to 20 files compress in one batch — all locally in your browser.

JPG · PNG · WebP · up to 20 files · 250 MB per batch

How it works

  1. Add images. Drop, paste, or choose up to 20 JPG, PNG, or WebP files (250 MB total).
  2. Pick a mode. Smart for automatic settings, Quality for a slider, PNG Palette for graphics with limited colors, or Target size to hit an exact KB budget.
  3. Compress and download. See original vs. compressed size per file, then download individually or as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded when I compress them?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser using the Canvas and File APIs. Your files are never uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored after you close the page.

How much smaller will my images get?

Photos typically shrink 50–80% at visually identical quality. PNG graphics compress most in Palette mode, which reduces the color count. The tool shows the exact saving per file before download.

Can I compress to an exact file size?

Yes. Target size mode iterates the quality setting until the file fits the KB budget you enter — useful for upload limits and email attachments.

Will compression make my images look worse?

At Smart or high-quality settings the difference is rarely visible. The live preview shows the actual compressed image, so you can judge before downloading — and a result that would be larger than the original is never reported as a saving.

Can I compress PNG without losing transparency?

Yes. PNG output keeps the alpha channel; Palette mode reduces colors while preserving transparency.
