Video crop

Crop a video to a new frame or aspect ratio without uploading it anywhere.

Crop a video to remove distractions or refit it for a different platform — square for feeds, vertical for Shorts and Reels, or a custom frame. The crop area previews on the actual video, and export runs through WebAssembly-powered encoding (FFmpeg) locally in your browser.

Because processing is local, even large private recordings never leave your device. Files up to 2 GB are supported.

MP4 · WebM · MOV · MKV · AVI in · MP4 / WebM out · up to 2 GB

How it works

  1. Add a video. Drop or choose an MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, or AVI file up to 2 GB.
  2. Frame the crop. Drag the crop frame on the preview or pick an aspect preset such as 1:1, 9:16, or 16:9, and scrub the timeline to check the framing throughout.
  3. Export the cropped video. Encode and download as MP4 or WebM. Encoding time depends on length and resolution.

Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The video is decoded, cropped, and re-encoded locally in your browser with WebAssembly (FFmpeg). Nothing is uploaded, which also means there is no queue and no privacy trade-off.

Which formats can I crop?

Common formats including MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, MPEG, and AVI are accepted; the result exports as MP4 or WebM.

How large can the video be?

Up to 2 GB per file. Longer or higher-resolution videos simply take longer to encode, since all the work happens on your own device.

Will cropping re-encode my video?

Yes — changing the frame requires re-encoding. The tool uses quality settings chosen to keep the result visually close to the source.

Can I crop to vertical for Shorts, Reels, or TikTok?

Yes. Use the 9:16 preset and position the frame over the subject; the export is ready for vertical platforms.
